Walking the ‘caminos’ is a joy; I’m so grateful that at my stage of life I walk lightly through the beautiful landscapes of Cantabria, Asturias, Galicia – light as a feather and free as a bird.
On the last camino I returned from in June 2026, I walked with my ‘embodiment’ as a Person-Centred being.
This was the most fun ‘camino’ that I’ve walked. The previous year, 2025, I was walking the Northè camino as research for my master’s dissertation. I sustained a lot of physical injuries and was processing a lot of ‘stuff’.
What I experienced in my last camino was the completeness of being at peace with myself. That my energy while walking was internal. I was taking myself into the landscape, into the rhythm of placing one foot in front of another. My feeling of peace was my ‘organismic valuing process’, my experience of self-actualisation and self-regulation.
As Rogers observes, I was a “fully functioning organism”
From my ‘frame of reference’, this reflects the creativity of the Person-Centred approach in my life.
